E-bituary

If you had the opportunity to know Ryan Rodgers for even just three minutes, you knew him forever. Ryan was a handsome young man who was full of life and dreamt big, exuding charismatic positivity in a respectful and polite manner. As Ryan would say "Hear me out...” because he believed anything was possible. Ryan thrived in the outdoors spending his time snowboarding, hunting, fishing, and hitting the trails on his ATV.

On Monday, June 26, 2023, his loved ones were stunned by the abrupt and heartbreaking news that Ryan, just 18 years old, passed away tragically in a car accident on his way to work.

Ryan spent his formative years in Oaklyn/Collingswood before recently moving to Souderton, PA.  His big personality, enthusiasm for life, and genuine compassion for others made him a natural leader.  Ryan’s warm and friendly personality earned him the title “The Mayor” amongst his community.

Ryan was a standout athlete his entire life earning numerous accolades and awards.  In his early years, he spent his summers at the local swimming clubs breaking records on the swim team.  Ryan played travel baseball for Gloucester City Brawlers where he quickly became part of the Brawler’s family.  Later at Collingswood High School, Ryan received special recognition as a three-sport athlete for all four years for football, wrestling, and baseball.  Ryan started his post high school journey at Williamson College of the Trades where he excelled as a quarterback on the football team.   Most recently, he worked for Lehigh Valley Lawn where he pursued his love for the outdoors.

Ryan’s comedic and silly demeanor was a constant source of entertainment, brightening even the dullest of moments.  Whether he was on the dance floor, singing his heart out, or making people laugh, Ryan’s presence was always an inspiration to celebrate life. His family and friends were unequivocally the most important aspect of Ryan’s life which is why he found immense pride in his newfound role as “Uncle Ry-Ry”.

Ryan is survived by his parents LeLanie (nee Taulane) Rodgers (Stephen DiPietro) and Stephen C. Rodgers. He is the brother of Kelly Rodgers (Devon) Stevie Rodgers (Mikayla) and Cara Rodgers. Ryan is the grandson of Toniann & her late husband Robert Gauntt, John V Taulane, Marlene Pastella, James Birmingham (Barbara) and great-grandson of LeLanie Giordano. He is the nephew of Christina Taulane, Dana Taulane (Kyle), John A Taulane (Nicole), Lisa & her husband Ralph Giordano, and the late Robert Rodgers. Ryan is also survived and will be deeply missed by his nephew and godson Stevie Rodgers as well as his four-legged furry companions Kacie and the late Holly.

Relatives, neighbors, and friends are invited to gather with the Rodgers family. We’ll come together in tribute and thanksgiving to take comfort in each other on Wednesday, July 5th between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm and on Thursday, July 6th between 9:00 am and 10:15 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00 am at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church 37 W. Haddon Ave. Oaklyn. We’ll open the ground so, like us, the earth appears wounded immediately following Mass in a graveside tribute at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
