Ruth R (Ross) Scott

August 22, 1926 — June 9, 2021

At the beach, life is different. Time doesn’t move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides, and follow the sun.  As the ocean is full of water, so is the heart,  full of love.  Ruth R. Scott (nee Ross) passed away at the age of 94 in Warrington, PA.  Ruth was born to the late David and Mabel Ross (nee Smith) on August 22, 1926 in  Philadelphia. She was loving, dedicated, creative and very passionate.  Ruth loved the beach, especially Ocean City. Mrs. Scott served as PTA President & Historian for Yorkship Elementary School in the Fairview Neighborhood of Camden and also was a girl scout troop leader for over 10 years in Fairview.   As a seamstress Ruth showed perfection in everything she sewed. She became the first bridal consultant for Macy’s in Cherry Hill. One day we will learn how lucky we were to have known her love, with wonder, not grief.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband Robert G. Scott “Scotty” and her brothers, Arthur and Clifford Ross.  She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughters; Laurie and her husband Robert, Dawn and her husband Joseph,  Beth and her husband Patrick, her son Gary and his wife Lisa.  Mrs. Scott is also survived and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Susan, Christopher, Janet, Stephen, Gary Jr., Brianna, Katrina, Jenna, Lyndsay, Patrick Jr., Scott, and Connor as well as her great grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Malia, Madilyn, Ariana, David, Taelyn, Maya and Sophie. Ruth was also predeceased by her treasured life long friend Dorothy.

Some memories never leave your heart. Like the salt in the sea; they become part of you - and you carry them.  Our loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Ruth’s family on Saturday morning between 8:00am and 10:00am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn.
