Joseph R. Myers

September 19, 1956 — April 6, 2023

Wildwood, FL

Optimism is at the corner of hope and resilience and Joe would say in faith, that he knew where he was going. He approached each day with strong faith. Joe was humble, kind, funny and considerate. He was an athlete but remained quiet and tenaciously competitive.” Through health adversities, he remained unselfish and never complained.

For just a brief 66 years, he faced the path of time which was filled with so many good memories. On the morning of April 6th, 2023, Joe’s yesterdays are now risen just like beautiful incense and his soul is now with the LORD. For there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. In God’s loving care, Joe and the former things have passed away.

Joseph R. Myers was born in the fall of ‘56, right in the middle of the doo-wop era, in Camden, NJ. He had spent his formative years in Magnolia and was a Sterling High School graduate, class of ‘74. Joe raised his family in High Ridge, MO and they recently moved to the Villages in Wildwood, FL. He had an unwavering, deep-rooted work ethic. He received his undergraduate in IT from the University of Phoenix. He made his career as a VP, consultant and systems analyst at various medical companies including ESI, Unity, and Mercy Hospital. Joe excelled at and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. He was an avid and competitive golfer. He has left us with so many fond memories of endless fairways, gentle greens, and dedication to the endless pursuit of the perfect game.

The life given us is short, but the memory of a well-spent life is eternal. Joe is the son of the late Walter & his wife Anna (nee Donovan) Myers. He is survived by his loving and doting wife, Joy (nee Sieveking), and his son Patrick. “Melv” is also survived and will be sadly missed by his sisters “The Prim” Marianne & her husband Robert Tanke, “Turk” Carol & her late husband Les Gant and his brother “Ern” Brian & his wife Betty Myers as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to gather with the Myers family. We’ll be sharing our heartfelt stories on Saturday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a remembrance ceremony will celebrated by Pastor, Rev. Chuck Mitchell at 12:00 pm. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature was held privately. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Brain Tumor Association www.abta.org 8550 West Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste 550, Chicago, IL 60631 or to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
