Glen L Morehouse

January 17, 1932 — January 7, 2023

Philadelphia

What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others is and remains immortal. Live the present and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering. Glen L. Morehouse was just a little larger than life. He was an endearing midwest gentleman with an easygoing, good nature and engaging sense of humor. The old boy was handy and talented artistically. His guiding hand will remain with us forever.

After 90 years, the angels have waited for so long. On Saturday, January 9, 2023, heaven had a light his way. Glen passed away at Virtua-Lourdes Hospital in Camden and his soul had risen like incense.

Mr. Morehouse was born in Robbinsdale, MN, and spent his formative years there. He was a graduate of Robbinsdale High School, class of 1950 where his thin, athletic physique earned him the nickname “Mouse”. Glen’s home contributed to the manpower of our great nation upholding the ideas of our American freedoms in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Morehouse made his career in Standardization working for Defense Logistics Troop Support in Philadelphia. He was a parishioner of and married in Transfiguration Parish in Collingswood and later became a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church, Oaklyn. Glen was an avid freshwater fisherman, enjoyed skiing during his teenage years, and spent some time bowling in leagues.

Mr. Morehouse was predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy (nee Santamaria), and is survived by his son Glen Morehouse. Glen was the youngest of seven children and was predeceased by his siblings. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Morehouse family. We’ll be laughing over old stories about life growing up in Robbinsdale, especially the one story where Glen as a toddler had wandered out the back door while the family was visiting Glen’s parents, and paying tribute to that larger-than-life charisma on Friday morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church 307 W. Haddon Ave. Oaklyn where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org
