Dave was a Philadelphia Sports fan and a long-time season ticket holder of the Flyers and Eagles and finally witnessed the great Eagles Superbowl win! His biggest passion was baseball where he played in local adult leagues and transitioned 30+ years ago to become an umpire. Dave had great respect for the game, every player, coach and family where he built many long-lasting friendships both on and off the field. Dave was a member of the NJBUA and was close to reaching his goal of umpiring 1,000 games across high school, college and professional teams in the NJ/PA/DE/MD area and his favorite spot in Hawaii. He was a member of the Hot Stovers Baseball Club of South Jersey and was inducted into the South Jersey Baseball Hall of Fame as an umpire in 2014.
Dave loved to travel with his family and friends for many years with great memories in Stone Harbor, taking out his boat “The Strike Three” and taking every opportunity he could to watch or umpire a game. His weekly “Lunch Bunch” outings with his high school friends, traveling to OBX for the last 20 years with childhood friends were traditions that Dave enjoyed so much reminiscing of the good times and laughing their way to new memories.
