Cynthia A. "Cindy" (Aldrich) Hinshillwood

April 7, 1947 — November 1, 2022

Oaklyn

If you want to walk fast walk alone, but if you want to walk far, walk together. During her lifetime Cynthia A. Hinshillwood (nee Aldrich) walked through her days with confidence, compassion, purpose and faith. She was her own woman. Respected and feared as “the boss.”

Cindy loved the beach. Her formative years were spent in Hampton Bays and she lost countless hours “sun baking” on Sea Isle City’s beach. On Monday, November 1, 2022, All Saints’ Day, Cindy’s tide had unknowingly slipped away from her beach’s sand. After just 75 years, the martyrs came to welcome her. From her home in Oaklyn, the angels lead her to paradise, the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem.

Cindy’s sun had risen from the borough of Queens, New York, NY during the early spring of 1947. She graduated form Hampton Bays High School, class of 65, briefly attended Grace Downs in Glen Cove, NY and finished her education with an associate’s degree in accounting from Camden County College. Cindy made her career working for Richard J. Hatch, CPA in Moorestown. She enjoyed spending time with her feet pushed into the warm sand and had been a Jersey - Florida snowbird for many years. At home, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Cindy was devout and had been an active parishioner of St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Aloyisus Church in Oaklyn. Love grows only by giving. The only way to retain love is to give it away. That’s how Cindy showed her affection, by doing and giving.

Mrs. Hinshillwood is the daughter of the late Elmer & his late wife Alice (nee Lapinski) Aldrich. In her warm afterglow, Cindy leaves her husband of of 51 years, Harold Hinshillwood, her daughter Krista & her husband Christopher Faust. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dr. Kellie Smith and is survived by her son-in-law Jason Smith. Mrs. Hinshillwood is the proud grandmother of Abbie, Thomas and Ella Smith, Brayden Faust and Bryce Faust. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her siblings; Anne Chiefari, Nancy Charos and Michael Aldrich.

Relatives, friends, neighbors and parishioners are invited to gather with the Hinshillwood family. We’ll come together to take comfort in each other and share our heartfelt stories on Monday evening between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn. We will celebrate life through faith in a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church 37 W. Haddon Ave. Oaklyn. A graveside tribute and the solemn witness of reuniting a mother with her daughter will immediately follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry HIll.
