Walter A Moore

March 10, 1959 — May 6, 2025

Westville

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, and held so very dear. So look for me in the trees, in the quiet of the morning and the glory of the night. My love for you is as clear as a beautiful cardinal against the pure white snow.

Walt’s presence filled the room not with noise but with stories, warmth, and genuine interest in others. He was a true chatterbox in the most endearing way and had a gift for conversation that was always rooted in kindness.

In english, we say, “I miss you” but in poetry, we say, “I trace the shape of your absence in the spaces where your laughter used to linger, and let the echoes of you fill the hollow hours.” On Tuesday May 6, 2025, after just a short time with us, we were forced to box up all of Walter A. Moore’s yesteryears and hand him over from time, our everyday hours… to eternity.

Walt was born in Camden and had been a Westville resident. He was self-employed and made his career as “Walt the Computer Man”. He was a man who gave more than he took, who built not just things, but strong family bonds, and whose legacy lives on in the skills he taught, the values he lived, and the love he shared so freely. As a husband and father, he was deeply caring. As a grandfather, he was both a teacher and a friend, patiently passing down the skills of a lifetime through hands-on lessons in fixing things, building with care, and taking pride in doing it right. He found joy in simple pleasures, especially the outdoors… feeding the birds became a peaceful and daily ritual or, in quiet concentration, focusing on the challenge of crossword puzzles.

Walt leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Christina & her husband Mark Jakobowski, Alycia Moore, and his longtime faithful partner Claire Davis. Mr. Moore is the proud grandfather of Garson and Chase Jakobowski and is also survived and will be sadly missed by his furry best friend Fred as well as his siblings, nieces and nephews.

The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately.
