Thomas J Snyder

February 3, 1941 — April 8, 2022

Somerdale

Life is ours, we live it our way and we move lightly. But, the goal isn’t to live forever, it’s to create something that will. Thomas J. Snyder was always on the go. He committed his time and his days to shaping the minds of the young and challenged. He gave this world’s adversity a genuine, open heart, with compassion. We all want something beautiful. To the lovers, the dreamers, and you… keep believing.

On Friday, April 8, 2022, we learned how terrible it is to love something death can touch. Love doesn’t leave but people do. Thomas J. Snyder passed away at Virtua Lourdes Hospital in Camden at the age of 81. This is the time that we let him go. These are the words that will take us home.

Mr. Snyder was born in Swedesboro and had been a longtime resident of Somerdale. He made his career as an educator. Where some saw disabilities, Tom saw possibilities in the Camden City Schools. He loved to travel, spend time in his garden, and was always accompanied by his best furry little friends “T.J.” and “Bits” at home, through the woods, or at the dog park.

Tom is the son of the late Robert & Mary (nee Layman) Snyder. He is survived by his sister, Loretta O’Donnell as well as his nieces and nephews; Wendy & her husband Tony Cintron, Michael J. “Jr.” & his wife Amber Bazulis, Anthony & his wife Nicole Bazulis, Richard & his wife Jennifer O’Donnell, Michael & his wife Dawn, Wayne & his wife Arleen and Sandy & her husband Greg, Donny & his wife Donna, Freddy & his wife Anita, “Little Debbie” and her husband Mark. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his dear friends; Bernie, Jeff, Mark, Joyce, Tom, Sharlene, and John.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Snyder family. We’ll be sharing our heartfelt stories on Sunday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes, 400 White Horse PIke, Oaklyn, where a remembrance ceremony will be celebrated at 12:00 pm. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately. God takes care of those that take care of the animals. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare Association 509 Centennial Blvd. Voorhees, NJ 08043 www.awanj.org
