Robert J Yeager, Jr.

September 7, 1962 — April 29, 2025

Gloucester

During the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the unthinkable became the unspeakable. Our tears not only fell but crashed around us all. Robert J “Bug Juice” Yeager, Jr., a lifelong Gloucester neighbor, a man of warmth, humor, and boundless generosity, passed away unexpectedly at his home. He was 62 years old.

To know Bob was to love him and to laugh with him. “Bug juice” was kind, funny, and loyal. He was thoughtful, spontaneous, and giving. The best part of Bob's life were his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love. Bob had a way of turning everyday moments into cherished memories. Whether he was cracking a joke, sharing a story, or just showing up, because he always did, his "five-mile smile" could brighten any room he entered. He could easily "cheese" it up and keep everyone laughing with his brand of humor. He lived with devotion and light.

Bob spent his entire circle of days as a Gloucester neighbor and graduated from Gloucester City High School. His home had contributed to the manpower of our great nation, upholding the ideals of our American freedoms in the U.S. Army. Bob was proud of his German lineage and took pride in his Virgo soul, embracing each with humble reverence. If you were friends with Bob, you were a friend for life. He was a hometown guy who made his friends a major part of his everyday life and still had lasting relationships with his childhood and neighborhood buddies. As Bob "The Bug Man," he wasn’t just an exterminator; he was a fixture in Gloucester. He took pride in serving his neighbors not just as clients, but as friends. He made his home, his career, and his legacy right in the streets he once rode his bike through.

A lifelong fan of the Phillies and Eagles, “Juice” could often be found celebrating a win or cursing a loss with equal passion. No Army/Navy game went by without him and his wife in the stands or, at the very least, tuned in and cheering. Bob loved his Harleys, the ultimate in freedom and joy, but loved nothing more than his soulmate to whom he was established in love with, in mischief, and in a cemetery, on October 30, 2015. He loved her not for the way she danced with his angels, but for the way the sound of her name could silence his demons.

Bob held his faith dear and was a member of the Gloucester City Knights of Columbus, Council 674. He was also a gold time member of the Democrat Club in Gloucester as well as the Crescent Park VFV post 3563 Bellmawr Auxiliary, always finding ways to give back to the Holy City he loved so deeply.

Robert J “Bug Juice” Yeager, Jr. was spontaneous, thoughtful, and generous beyond measure. His laughter lingers, his spirit echoes, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of those lucky enough to have called him family, friend, or neighbor. One day we will know how lucky we were to have known his love with wonder, not grief.

True love is your soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another. Bob leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life and his soulmate, Roseann (nee DePalma) Yeager. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter Alicia & her husband Anthony Faso, and his father Robert J. & his wife Marina Yeager, Sr., Bob is the proud grandfather of Dominic, A.J., Nate, Justin, and Vincent. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his brother Erich & his wife Masako Yeager, Katie & her husband Brian Sauck, and Alexandra “Sandy” Yeager, as well as his faithful fur babies Eva, Mia, his nieces and nephews: Peyton, Briana, the late Garrett, and his brother-in-law, Anthony DePalma.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Yeager family. We’ll come together to laugh, to cry, to celebrate and to take comfort in each other on Thursday afternoon between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes, 700 Powell St., Gloucester City where a funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 5:00 pm with memories and stories to follow, during which those who wish to speak and share memories are welcome.
