Curiosity is the greatest secret to happiness. The mind that opens itself to a new idea never returns to its original size. Robert T. Yates’ curiosity manifested as mischief, determination, and faith. Dad was a tinkerer, an explorer, and a thinker who saw the world through an electromagnetic lens. Dad believed in angels and aliens and considered the possibility that they were one and the same. On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Dad’s soul adventured on to that wavelength known only by angels and aliens.

Dad was born in Camden and most recently was a resident of Clementon. His formative years were shaped by his curiosity and those who supported it, like his friend and mentor, Casey. Dad made his career as an electrician. He was moved by music and loved to dance. Some say dance as if no one is watching, but Dad didn’t care!

Bob will be remembered and deeply missed by his daughter, Kristine Yates. He was the proud Pop Pop of Calvin and brother to George and Dawn. He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Debby, Robin, Alice, Shirley, and Walter “Mickey” Yates. Bob will also be sadly missed by his nephew George, Nikki and their family, as well as many nieces and nephews, along with his dear friend Wendy and her son, Frank.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Yates family. We’ll come together with good tunes to remember Bob on Tuesday afternoon between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Creran Celebration Ertherington & Creran Funeral Homes, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn, where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm.
