Richard Walter Beekler, Sr. passed away on April 13th, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. He was born in the same hospital to Gerald and the late Marylou Beekler in 1962 as the third of six children. He is survived by his five siblings; Gerald Beekler Jr., James Beekler (June), Raymond Beekler (Chandra), Linda Mazzatti, and Joanne Thomas (Don). Richard had two sons; Richard Beekler Jr. and Randall Beekler.
“Rich” enjoyed a life of humor and positivity to the people he loved and the people around him. Whether it was work, a relaxing evening at home or a family gathering of 20+ people, Rich always wanted to be part of the conversation and never shied away from a sarcastic remark. During his life, Rich enjoyed various sports with his siblings growing up and his children while they were growing up; baseball, tennis, golf, biking and many more were how he liked to spend his time outdoors. This passion was always in conjunction with his desire to cheer on Philadelphia sports teams. Phillies optimism in the spring, Eagles passion in the fall and Flyers/Sixers in the winter were how he liked to spend his TV viewing time. He had an opinion about all of them and always wanted to discuss it.
Rich’s other passion was his family. He loved getting together with his sons, talking about lives, ambitions and generally having a fun time over cards or stories. This also goes for his role as an uncle where he is survived by many nieces and nephews: Drew, Keith, Devon, Morgan, Meagan, Matthew, Madison, Samantha, Jessica, Courtney and Amanda. Great nieces and nephews, extended family members and so many friends Rich made over the years can attest to the positive nature and impact they had on them. Special thanks to Donna and Donald Denight, as well as Trudy Doyle for all the love, friendship and support given to Rich over the past two years. You will be sorely missed and loved by those who will pass on your name with kindness. #crerancelebration #heartfelt
The time honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately.
