It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live. Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light, and it is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. Give light and the darkness will disappear, itself. She was spunky and full of life. Her spotlight was on what made the best of it. Nicole M. Pancoast (nee Torgun) was a true Gryffindor at heart—spunky, warm, brave in spirit, and full of life. A Hedwig among owls—loyal, loving, a bit mischievous, and always delivering joy right on time. She was the kind of magic the world rarely sees twice.
If a single picture captures 1000 words, Nicole captured entire novels! Stories of joy, family, and sun-soaked memories. There just wasn't one word we were ready to say, goodbye. On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the unthinkable became the unspeakable, and we learned how difficult it is to love something that death can touch. Nicole, just 50 years old, passed through the veil at Inspira Hospital, Mullica Hill.
Nicole was born in Philadelphia, PA, and had spent her formative years as a Gloucester neighbor before moving to Mantua. She enchanted life’s ordinary moments. She loved being home; in the chapters of her life, motherhood was the brightest Patronus, her proudest spell. Nicole relished in the thrill of amusement parks and the serenity of the sandy shores. She captured every moment because she was always the photographer. Social media was her own room of requirement, a place to share, connect, and preserve the magic of everyday life, showering her cat “Fluffers” with love, affection, and photo shoots.
Nicole leaves a legacy of love and light in her children; Donald & his wife Jaclyn Grasmick, Jr., Kyle Pancoast, Evan Pancoast, and Kasey Coles. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mom, Geraldine (nee Hopson) Torgun, as well as her brothers, George M. Torgun & his wife Sarah Burt, Adam & his wife April Torgun, her niece Zoey, nephews Robin and Sasha, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Though the hallows have called her home, her magic remains.
