Laugh at yourself, it’s not that deep. If you fail, Make a big splash. Don’t be afraid to get wet! Nicholas J. Hilt WAS NOT! In fact his cannonball and one legger’s almost went higher than the house. Nick was humble, Straightforward and matter of fact. He had an endearing sense of humor with no filter, was hardworking and enjoyed almost everything: Billiards, motorcycles, golf, water and snow skiing. The best doctors are; the sun, rest, exercise, diet, self respect and friends but nothing in this world is forever. Not our problems and not cancer. “F* Cancer!” After a brief illness, on Tuesday June 15, 2021 we boxed up all of Nick’s yesterdays and neatly put them away at home.
Nick was born in “Spring City” Waukesha, WI “The Saratoga of the west” and had spent his formative years there. He was a salt of the earth kinda fella who loved to talk and was definitely the “weirdo magnet”. He loved old cars, old motorcycles and had a soft spot for babies and kitties. Nick had been a longtime resident of Pennsauken and worked as an accomplished Journeyman, a brother of the I.B.E.W. Local 351 in Hammonton.
Some families are messed up while others are fine. If you think yours is crazy, well you should see mine. The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart and so did we. Nick is the son of Jane (nee Parson) Hilt and the late Nicholas Hilt. He is survived by his ass kicking wife of 40 years Lisa (nee Inzeo) Hilt. He is the father of Shannon, Heather, Nicholas and Alaric Hilt. Nick is the proud grandfather of Zourie, Jean-Luc and is also survived by his sister Teresa Jahn, his brother-in-law Mark Inzeo, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and his furry, feline companions George, Nola and Mo Mo.
Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to gather with the Hilt family. Nick would say “Talk to me.” So, we’ll be talking about the record collection, bikes and sharing heartfelt stories about our son, husband, father, brother and friend on Wednesday evening between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike Oaklyn. Homeward bound funeral Services will continue at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home in Waukesha, WI. www.randledablefuneralhome.com Interment and a graveside tribute will follow at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI. #crerancelebration #heartfelt
