Maurice "Mac" S. McDonnell

June 11, 1931 — January 9, 2016

On January 9, 2016, of Mays Landing, NJ, age 84. He is the beloved husband of Barbara Barrett (nee Jagdman), loving father of the late Michael McDonnell (Diane), Pam Cox (Carl), Brian McDonnell (Mary), David McDonnell (Tina), Matthew McDonnell (Amanda), Richard McDonnell, Jeffrey McDonnell (Cathy) and to his step-children George Barrett (Marla), Barbara Barrett, Patricia Dirscherl (Robert) Maureen Barrett (Bill) and Denise Barrett (Brian). He is also survived by 19 dear grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mac had served as a Medic in the US Navy and was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Folsom. He was an avid reader, loved gardening and followed a holistic approach to his health. Mac was also mechanically inclined and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mac's Memorial Service, Thursday, 11:00 AM, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1341 Mays Landing Rd., Folsom, NJ 08037. Interment will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the church at the address listed above.
