Marlene M. Brown

May 27, 1935 — February 5, 2008

age 72 of Bellmawr passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury on Tuesday February 5, 2008.

Mrs. Brown was born in Barrington to the late George & Elizabeth (nee Schickling) Miller. Marlene was raised in Audubon and had been a Bellmawr resident for the past 45 years. She had graduated from Audubon High School, class of 53 and had been a life-long member of the Audubon Bob-Bons Drum & Bugle Corps and Alumni organization. as well as a former member of the Bellmawr Democrat Club. Marlene had always seen the best in everyone. She loved her home and garden, Christmas, her red Trans Am, computers, her dog "Champ" and most of all her family and friends.Pool parties and camping trips were her favorite memories. More recently, she enjoyed spending time with her family, managing the alumni organization's website, shopping & dining out.

Mrs. Brown had made her career in retail sales beginning with Tupperware and had owned and operated her own store Jeans and Things in Brooklawn. Marlene had also worked for Fashion Bug and had retired as a store manager.

A loving wife, mother, sister and friend; Marlene is the widow of her late husband Kenneth Brown. She is survived by her children Dawn & her husband Vince Catroppa of Blackwood and Kenneth & his fiancée Peggy Demaree of Pine Hill. Mrs. Brown is the proud Grandmother of Michael, Genavieve, Brian (Flower), Eva, Douglas and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brother George & his wife Diane of Glassboro as well as her nephew and God-son Christopher, her life long friends Fran, Kass & Georgia and a host of relatives, neighbors, friends and e-mail correspondents, all whom she cherished.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the Brown family to remember and pay tribute to Marlene on Friday evening between 7 and 9 pm and on Saturday morning between 9 and 10 am at the Funeral Home where funeral services will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
