IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynn E
Otto
August 15, 1953 – October 30, 2025
What actually is success? To laugh often and much? To earn respect and the affection of children? It’s to appreciate beauty, find the best in others, and leave this world just a bit better. To know one person has lived easier because of you… that is success. When you can touch someone's heart, it's limitless. Lynn E. Otto was the kind of woman whose presence made a room gentler. Thoughtful in her words and her deeds, she noticed the small things that mattered to others and acted on them without being asked. Her generosity wasn’t measured by what she gave, but by the heart behind it; whether it was her time, her attention, or a simple gesture of kindness, she gave freely and without expectation. Sweet and kind in nature, she had a way of making people feel seen and valued. She was involved in everything that touched her community and her loved ones, always the first to volunteer, to lend a hand, or to listen. Her spirit was one of quiet strength and open-hearted giving, a constant reminder that compassion is a powerful form of grace.
Where the salt wind hums a lullaby and gulls trace lazy arcs through gold-tipped skies,
Sea Isle wakes with the ocean’s tide. Lynn loved her small shore town cradled in the hands of the Atlantic. During the early morning of Thursday, October 30, 2025, after 72 years, Lynn’s tide had slipped away from her beach’s sand, at her home in Oaklyn, with the care and comfort of the love of her life.
Lynn’s sun had risen from Camden during the summer of ‘53. She spent her early married years as a Fairview neighbor before moving and spending the rest of her days in Oaklyn, Seashore Lines in Oceanview, and Sea Isle City.
She began her career in banking at 1st People Bank in Westmont and spent time through acquisitions at Collective Bank and Hudson Bank, among others, finishing her 40-year career with a lifetime of friends and colleagues at TD Bank. During retirement, Lynn worked briefly in the cafeteria at Oaklyn Public Schools, followed by Holcomb Bus as an aide on the bus.
There’s a pulse that lives and a heartbeat that answers when the first note strikes. It’s the language of rhythm and release, where every melody becomes memory, and every lyric feels like it was written
just for you. Dancing becomes prayer, a surrender to the moment’s wild grace. Every beat lifts the heart higher, every song stitches joy to the soul. Lynn was deeply touched and moved by music. Bon Jovi, The Duprees, Barbara Streisand, and Sir Elton were some of her favorites. Whether it was “Your Song”, “Bad Medicine”, “Take Me As I Am”, or “People”, she loved spending nights at the Manor Bar in Oaklyn and the thrill of live music. At the OD, she danced the night away with the Secret Service Band, and at home, she emphatically cheered on the Eagles and Phillies
A bee is incomplete without a flower, and the flower doesn't dream of the bee. It blossoms, and the bee comes. Lynn was his lucky penny, and she was his 4 leaf clover. They were established in love and began their life together 53 years ago, about a year after he got out of the police academy. Lynn is the daughter of the late Charles & the late Anna E. (nee Buffington) Margerum, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband, Wayne Otto. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her Goddaughters, Renee Walters and Amber Lynn (Anthony Cook) Brzozowski. Lynn is the sister of Sharon & her late husband, Patrick O’Keefe, the late Charlie “Chick”, and Gregory Margerum, sister-in-law of Gary & his wife Miriam, and Robert & his wife Rose Otto. You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches ahead. We’re on our way home. Lynn’s life was filled with a lasting friendship of laughing times, sunny times, and bright and sunny days. Lynn’s afterglow will continue to be treasured by her lifelong and best, dearest friend, Pat (nee Mealey) Hodorowicz. She is also survived by her faithful, furry companion, her Yorkie Kendal, her numerous nieces and nephews, including Jimmy, Gina, Jeffrey, Joey, and Sharon “Pumpkin”, among many others, her great-nieces Brielle and Brittany, as well as her many neighbors, friends, and her friends at Holcomb, A.J. & his wife Megan Holcomb, and Sarah & her husband Bart Barszczewski.
Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Otto Family. We’ll come together in tribute and thanksgiving to take comfort in one another. We’ll be jammin’ and dancin’ to Bon Jovi, chanting the Eagles Fight Song, and celebrating what Lynn had meant to each of us on Friday morning between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a remembrance ceremony with a reflection of Lynn to follow, during which those who wish to speak and share memories are welcome.
