Lynette L. Huntsinger

January 31, 1954 — April 22, 2024

Gloucester City

The words displayed in her family room entryway read “having someone to love is a family, having a place to go is a home, having both is a blessing." Lynette L. Huntsinger (nee Conner) created a Northstar of love, from her home, that we could all look up to. Rooted deeply in faith, her genuine pastoral approach exhibited care for all those around her. She enjoyed the company of others, loved to entertain, and was “mom” to the many friends who walked through her door.

For 70 years Lynette filled her open days of faith and prayer sharing stories with melody, hospitality and direction. On Monday, April 22, 2024, we learned how difficult it is to love something death can touch. Lynette passed on, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family, at Virtua-Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ. But as promised, God has wiped away every tear from her eyes and death is no more; for she is with Him. One day we will know how lucky we were to have known her love with wonder, and not grief.

Lynette’s circle of days began in Anderson, IN. Faith then took her family east into Ohio during her formative years; and in her adolescence, they settled in Gloucester City, New Jersey where she continued to be a neighbor for the rest of her days. Lynette played basketball during high school and later coached youth softball in her community. She worked as an administrative assistant at Greenberg, Shmerlson, Weinroth & Miller during her early years. She furthered her love of hospitality and community, founding the party-planning company “A Touch of Class,” and finished up her career in customer service as a gate supervisor for U.S. Airways. At home, Lynette loved to cook and work on her many recipes which she hand wrote and collected with the hopes of passing them on to her loved ones. She was lucky enough to travel, visit, and enjoy every US state but Hawaii; yet this didn’t stop her from celebrating her 50th birthday with a fun Polynesian luau. Lynette truly enjoyed music and was very proud of her extensive album collection. She loved to sing, started a community choir, and led the choir at Highland Park Church of God where she was an active congregant.  She enjoyed weekly Sunday lunches at “dad’s,” and loved to laugh and tell stories during the times spent communing with family and friends. And though Lynette’s stories of yesterdays are all boxed up and safely tucked away, the memories they’ve created will endure.

To the world, Lynette was just a mother, but to her family, she was the world. Lynette leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Bruce Huntsinger. She is the mother of Geri & her husband Scott Hagan, Steven & his wife Sara Huntsinger, and Denise & her husband Michael Wooden. She is the proud grandmother of Andrew & Breanna, and the great-grandmother of Serenity. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her mother Gerry (nee Ozment) Conner; her siblings, Larry, Doug, Donald, and Dolly Conner; as well as her many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be addressed to the Highland Park Church of God or the American Cancer Society. In place of a viewing, visitation with family and friends will be held at 9 am, Saturday, May 4th, at the Highland Park Church of God in Gloucester City, NJ. A memorial service for Lynette will follow, beginning at 10 am.
