Kristen Laute, affectionately known as “TinTin” to those who loved her most, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Lowell, Indiana, at the age of 43. Born on January 1, 1982, in Voorhees, New Jersey, Kristen brought laughter, strength, and warmth into the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Denise Laute, and a cherished sister to Kara Laute and Harry Laute. Kristen was the proud biological mother of Tyler, Taylor, and Payton. Though her children were adopted, they remained forever close to her heart. She was a devoted partner to Justin Elston, and a loving aunt to Savannah, Matthew, Autumn, Karter, Elijah, Lukas, and the late Gabriella — each of whom held a special place in her heart.

A lifelong fan of The Wizard of Oz, Kristen found a special connection with the Tin Man, earning her the nickname “TinTin” — a symbol of the deep heart she carried through life. Kristen will be remembered for her humor, her resilience, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.
