Joseph F. Hodson

July 20, 1928 — April 14, 2017

On April 14, 2017, a lifelong resident of Gloucester City, NJ, age 88. He is the loving brother of Maude Gray and Lucetta Zee and is also survived by several dear nieces, nephew, great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving parents Maude and Joseph Hodson, 2 sisters Margaret Gariano, Mary Hodson, a brother Gus Hodson (Desma) and longtime companion Anna Patton. Joe was an Army Veteran of WWII. He loved playing baseball as a kid and is where he earned the nickname "Turtle". He was an avid Gloucester High sports fan, especially Girls Softball and loved big band music and dancing. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Friday for 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 POWELL ST., GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ. Joe's Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers his family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Gloucester High School Athletic Dept., 1300 Market St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030.
