James Stephen “Skip” Sutcliffe, Sr., of Haddon Township, formerly of Cherry Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, June 28, 2025.
Skip is the son of the late John B., Sr. and Florence (nee McNutt) Sutcliffe. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Camlin) Sutcliffe and the caring twin brother of the late William “Sandy” Sutcliffe and the late John B., Jr. “Jack” and his wife Diana Sutcliffe. Skip is survived by his children Kimberly and her husband Michael Tully and James Sutcliffe, Jr. and his wife Angela, his grandchildren, Michael and his wife Ashley Luu Tully and Ashley Tully and her partner Jeremy Lawson. He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws as well as his many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Skip is also survived by his devoted companion of 25 years, Nancy McCabe. He and Nancy enjoyed the shore, traveling, cruising, and senior day trips.
Skip grew up in the Fairview section of Camden. He was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School, class of 1962. He was a loyal Phillies and Eagles fan. He enjoyed the music of the ’60s through the ’90s and had a particular fondness for Frank Sinatra. In 2003, Skip retired from Lockheed Martin as a Senior Purchasing Agent.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Skip’s family on Tuesday, July 8th, between 9:00 am and 11:00 am at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddonfield, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Concluding prayers will immediately follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Cherry Hill.
