Life is ours and we live it our way. Herbert J. Sharp loved life and dreamed as though he would live forever. Unexpectedly, he passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 80, to be reunited with his wife Elaine and daughter Jennifer.
Herbert was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City. After graduating from Gloucester High School in 1959, he spent time in both trade school and the Army. He was a dedicated employee of E.I. DuPont in Deepwater, NJ for 35 years. Upon retirement, his days were spent traveling with his wife and family, vacationing at the Jersey shore, spending time with friends, or just being “PopPop”.
Herbie is the widower of his late wife Elaine (nee Bramble). He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Karen and her husband Christian Hoffman, and Staci and her husband Joseph Genovese. He was a proud grandfather and adored by his grandchildren Michael, Jayson, Ella, Drayden, and Lainee. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his nephew Thomas and his wife Cindy Sharp, and his brother Albert and his wife Laurie Sharp. Herb is predeceased by his mother Naomi Ella Sharp and his brother Walter Sharp.
Relatives, friends, and lifelong neighbors are invited to come together in tribute to celebrate a life well lived. We will be recalling fond memories and sharing stories of happy times. Guests are invited Thursday morning between 10:00 and 11:00 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 700 Powell St Gloucester City where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 11:00 am. A graveside tribute and the witness of love’s reunion will immediately follow at Woodbury Memorial Park. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in honor of his daughter Jennifer to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
