Obituary

This life is an indescribable journey, and love is what makes it all worthwhile. Having you as our big teddy bear has made each of our lives special. Life is just that simple: be yourself with a heart full of love and hugs filled with affection, comfort, security, and companionship. How lucky are we to have someone who makes saying goodbye so hard?

Harold W. Briggs was well-loved for who and what he was. Harry was a true family man adored by his many friends, neighbors, and co-workers. He was tough, but fair. Caring, gentle, and kind.

Presence is the most precious gift that you can give. Oftentimes, we will never remember what was said, but will always remember how we felt, just being there. It’s powerful. One thing that can’t be taken away is love. It’s not memory, it’s a feeling that resides in our heart and soul. On Sunday, December 21, 2025, we gave away our husband, our dad, our Pop Pop. We turned him over from the hands of time to eternity. One day, we will know how lucky we were to have known him with love. Not grief.

Harry was born in Mt. Holly and spent his formative years in Moorestown. His home had contributed to the manpower of our great nation, upholding the ideals of our American freedoms as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Mr. Briggs made his career as a manager with Holman Enterprises in Pennsauken and Cinnaminson, retiring after an impressive 50-year career with the Holman family. Fond memories of endless fairways, gentle greens, and dedication to the endless pursuit of the perfect game, Harry enjoyed spending time on the links and with his best golf buddies, the late Bill Cosenza and the late Joe Brocius. Mr. Briggs was an avid bowler and played adult men's softball. At home, he loved to watch TV, especially cheering on the Phightin Phils and Eagles, Go Birds!

Harry met and married the love of his life, at work, over 43 years ago and leaves to cherish his memory, his dear wife, Louise (nee Persichetti). Mr. Briggs will be deeply missed by his children, David & his wife, Cathy Briggs, Dan & his wife, Heather Briggs, Stacy & her husband, Mike Garland, Dawn & her late husband, Vincent Battaglia, and John & his wife, Nicole Bockman. Harry is the proud “two sodas” Pop Pop and will be sadly missed by Shane, Alicia, Aaron, Vinnie, Amber, Nicole, Torre, Emily, Joey, and Alexis. He is also survived and will be missed by his brother William & his wife Donna Briggs, his sister Nancy Hambleton-Smith, as well as his furry little feline companions Willow and Blossom.

Relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers are invited to gather with the Briggs family. We’ll come together in tribute and thanksgiving to take comfort in each other. We’ll celebrate the pursuit of the greatest game, the perfect frame, the gridiron, and America’s pastime, paying tribute to our big teddy bear, our husband, dad, and Pop Pop on Monday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a remembrance ceremony will begin, at 12:00 pm, during which those who wish to speak and share memories are welcome. United States Army Military Honors will immediately follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry’s memory can be made to Alzheimer's New Jersey using the link below.
