Gregg Teears, age 71, of Gloucester City, NJ, left the loving embrace of his family on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
Gregg was born in Camden, NJ, to the late Margarete (nee Thompson) and Stanley Teears, Jr., and loved spending time with his family. He was a longtime resident of the Gloucester City community. Early in his life, he was active in Scout Troop 138, enjoying camping and hiking, having achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and later became Assistant Scout Master. Gregg was instrumental in building the Fort Nassau playground in Gloucester and was on the GHS Class of ’72 reunion committee. He played in various volleyball leagues with his sister Diane for over 30 years. Since retiring, he has been a devoted volunteer at Helping Hands Food Pantry and participated in Eagle Scout Courts of Honor. Gregg enjoyed attending live theater performances, gardening, and estate sale shopping with his loving wife, Anne.
Gregg is survived by his wife of 33 years, Anne Teears (nee Walker), his devoted canine best buddy Bandit, his sister Diane Seternus, dear nieces Dana Seternus and Katie Borger (Ken), and his beloved great nephew Leo Roehr. He is also survived by Anne’s siblings, Kathy Urban (late Dave), Bernard Walker (Terry), Mary Plunkett (Rich), Eddie Walker, Susan Roemer (Bob), and Beth McAuliffe (late Marty); as well as his dear friends Anne Marabito and Tom & Diana Nolan.
A celebration of Gregg’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9th at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Home, 700 Powell St., Gloucester City, NJ, with visitation from 9:30 to 11:30; services at 11:30. In remembrance of Gregg and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helping Hands Food Pantry, 110 Sussex Street, Gloucester, NJ 08030, or any animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
