Frank W Reed, Jr.

May 15, 1953 — April 21, 2024

Oaklyn

Sometimes, only one person is missing and the whole world seems depopulated. Frank W. “Frank The Tank” Reed, Jr., touched many with his engaging charisma and zest for life. Frank was happy to be in the company of others with his infectious happiness that became his legacy of warmth and friendship.

Frank spent his entire circle of days as an Oaklyn neighbor beginning during the spring of 1953. But, there will come a day when our youth will pass away. We’ve reached the age where life will stop giving but taking. On Sunday, April 21, 2024, Frank passed away peacefully at his home in Oaklyn at the age of 70.

The strength within you begins as just a tiny spark that keeps building as it pushes you forward one step at a time. Frank achieved remarkable milestones that brought him immense pride. As a Past Most Excellent Master Artisan and former board member of the Artisans Order of Mutual Protection in Philadelphia, he upheld a legacy tied deeply to tradition. He was an active member of Tri-County Assembly #17 and Rising Sun Lodge #15 F&AM in Haddonfield as well as the Oaklyn-Bettlewood Sons of The American Legion. He had also been a regular face at the Brooklawn American Legion. Frank dedicated himself to a career as a carpenter, becoming a respected member of the Carpenters Union, Local 255 in Hammonton for over five decades. His expertise in scrapping and remarkable knowledge of metals were unparalleled, a testament to his wealth of knowledge and experience.

Frank’s interests defined his vibrant soul. He had a deep-rooted love for turtles and enjoyed his time in Sea Isle City boating, fishing and was the first “Polar Bear King” in 2009. He wasn't afraid to show you his sash. During his earlier years, his passion for NASCAR, working on cars, and winning races at the Atco Raceway showcased his adventurous spirit and enthusiasm.

Frank is survived by his son Frank W. & his wife Angela Reed, III, and his dear friend Katherine Butler. Frank is the proud grandfather of Forrest and Everly Reed. He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his sister Patricia (Chalie Shorten) Noon as well as his nieces and nephews; Jennifer Noon & her husband Kevin Rodenbeck, Dennis & his wife Traci Noon, Michael & his wife Shannon Noon, as well as his great nieces and nephews.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Reed family. We’ll come together to remember “Frank The Tank” and pay tribute to a fun-loving father, pop-pop, brother, and friend on Wednesday evening between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Creran Celebration 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where an Artisans Order of Mutual Protection Funeral Ceremony will begin at 6:45 pm and will immediately be followed by Masonic Funeral Ceremony at 7:00 pm. We will gather on Thursday morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at the funeral home where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 10:00 am. A graveside tribute will immediately follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.

As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Wetlands Institute www.wetlandinstitute.org 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd. Stone Harbor, NJ 08247
