Age 71, 0n August 31, 2007, a resident of New Port Richey, FL for the past 24 yrs. Beloved husband of Rita L. (nee Banchi) Schlemmer; loving father of Arlene Vesper and her husband Dominic of Audubon; cherished grandfather of Dominic, Jr. (Kim), Kristina Carey (David), Anthony and his fiancée Jamie; great grandfather of Dominic and Samantha Vesper,
Gianna Carey and Mia Vesper; brother-in-law Michael Banchi of Mass. He leaves in Germany an Aunt and Uncle Martha and Richard Turnwald and many cousins.
Mr. Schlemmer was born in Hanau, Germany. At the age of 12, he attended apprentice school where he received training as a baker. In 1948, he continued his training in Switzerland to learn the trade of pastry chef. After immigrating to the United States he worked as the Head Pastry Chef for the former
Cherry Hill Inn, the Sheraton Hotel and the Belleview Stratford Hotel both in Phila.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family to remember and pay tribute to Mr. Schlemmer on Friday evening between 6 and 8 pm at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME 152 W. Atlantic Ave. Audubon, NJ where a Memorial Service will be celebrated at 8 pm. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donors' choosing.
