Elizabeth "Bette" A. Hinger

On August 31, 2017, (nee Stannard) of Woodbury, formerly of Oaklyn, NJ, age 88. She is the beloved wife of Joseph H. Hinger, loving mother of Robert (Loretta) and Donald (Karen C.) Hinger and Dianne Geissler (Christopher). She is also the dear sister of Charles Stannard and loving grandmother of Sarah, Kathleen, Meghan, Nicholas, Melissa, Leah, Meryl and Daniel. Bette was a 1946 graduate of Collingswood High School. She was a former Girl Scout and Brownie Leader, Den Mother for the Club Scouts and was involved with the NJ Child Assault Prevention Program. She was also a Eucharist Minister for Sacred Heart Church in Camden, a member of the St. Aloysius Church Bowling League and was a member of the Air Force Academy Parents Assoc. Bette was employed as a secretary for Joseph Stutz Co. and later a secretary for Bishop Eustace Prep School. She loved playing cards, sewing, traveling, camping, crafting and was an avid gardener and painter. Bette loved her HOME, her children & grand children but most importantly her true love Joe.'' Relatives and friends are invited to meet Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church, 37 W. Haddon Ave. in Oaklyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at the request of her family. In lieu of flowers Bette's family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Sacred Heart Church, 1739 Ferry Ave., Camden, NJ 08104.
