Obituary

Curtis Anderson Taylor, a longtime Pine Hill neighbor, passed away on January 31, 2026, at Virtua Health & Rehab in Berlin.

Curtis, affectionately called “Curt”, was born on October 17, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA. He was the youngest child and had two foster sisters, who predeceased him.

Curtis attended Barrett Junior High and South Philadelphia High School in Philadelphia.

He had contributed to the manpower of our great nation, upholding the ideals of our American freedoms in the US Army as a soldier at the beginning of the Korean War, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, before being honorably discharged.

Curtis made his career at the US Postal Service as a mail clerk from 1956 to 1989, and later worked for the Pine Hill School Board. He also drove school buses for the School District of Pine Hill for 10 years.

Curtis was introduced to Andrea Rosalie Green in the early 1970's. They were united in holy matrimony on February 26, 1972. Curtis was part of the Young and the Restless social group and traveled with the group. Curtis also enjoyed chess games, tennis, archery, and jazz. He acquired an extensive jazz record collection. He was also known for his sophisticated attire. He was a great cook and loved to grill on the deck he made with his woodworking skills.

Curtis enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends, family, and neighbors. He loved to tinker in his woodworking shop. He made many wooden tables, chessboards, and other items. He also loved to maintain his home.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Levi Whitten, foster parents, and older foster siblings.

Curtis is mourned by his wife, Andrea R. Taylor, and son Curtis Omar Taylor, Daughter Antoinette Taylor, and his loving Granddaughter, Monique Williams, and great-grandson Donovan Williams, His niece and nephew, Lisa Stewart, and Leon Stewart, cousin, Merilyn Ann Carter, cousin-in-law Nora Showell, and cousin Ronald Showell, (Dori) and ex son-in-law Ron Waters.
