Oaklyn

Charles Nicholson Lehman (Chuck), 80 years old, lifelong resident of Oaklyn, NJ passed away Wednesday, August 7. A long time Oaklyn councilman and school board member, Chuck is survived by his wife Jody Reese, his cherished children Jacob, Jesse and Julia Lehman and his beloved grandchildren Leo and Hannah Lehman and their mother Emilie Wlodaver Lehman. Chuck is also survived by his sister Sue Barry (Ned) and his nephews Jon and Chad Barry and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jackie Reese and Joe Costello and niece Lindsay Wettstein.

Chuck was a Philadelphia school teacher for 30 years. He brought his love of learning and sharing his knowledge to everyone he met. Unofficial Oaklyn historian and Oaklyn’s biggest cheerleader, Chuck devoted himself to the civic life of his town. A former youth soccer coach, PTA president, school board member and town councilman, Chuck believed that the civic engagement of Oaklyn’s residents was the key to making Oaklyn such a special town. He leaves big shoes to fill but he had confidence that the citizens of Oaklyn would be up to the task.
