Obituary

Humility is not thinking less of yourself; it’s thinking of yourself less. Pride is only concerned with who is right. Being steadfast and humble is being concerned with what is right. Carlo R. Marucci, Sr., simply stayed the course. He possessed a strong work ethic, was strong-willed and stubborn at times. But, was content with what and who he had. Carlo was deeply loyal, a good provider, and the best, loving father.

It’s not the length of our lives but the depth of the lives we lead. Carlo was the life of the party; he made a consistent effort to help those around him and lead the way for each of the 12 steps to success. Nothing is forever, not even our problems. The best things in life are the sun, rest, self-respect, and friends. On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Carlo’s sun had set, after 80 trips, in Voorhees.

Mr. Marucci was born in the cradle of liberty, South Philadelphia, and spent his formative years there. He belonged to the National Shrine of St. Rita’s Parish and graduated from Bishop Neumann. Carlo’s home had contributed to the manpower of our great nation, upholding the ideals of our American freedoms in the U.S. Army. Early on, he worked for the Philadelphia Navy Yard as a pipe fitter and continued to make his career as a sheet metal worker with the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 194. At home, he loved his Ford Mustang and was an avid sports memorabilia collector, holding on to the most prized collectibles, baseball and football cards.

Mr. Marucci leaves to cherish his memory, his children Richard & his wife Michelle, Patricia & her husband Wilbert Montgomery, and Carlo “Butch” & his wife Marianna Marucci. He is the proud grandfather of Michael, Justin, Briana, Brendan, and Tavian. Mr. Marucci was predeceased by his siblings, the late Ralph Marucci, the late Louis Marucci, and the late Elaine DiBella. He is also survived and will be deeply missed by his sisters Phyllis Ivins, Elizabeth Cotollese, and Anna Marie Gilkin, as well as Barbara (nee Pacitti) Marucci.

The Marucci family will share their heartfelt memories privately. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society using the link below.
