Brenda A Thomas

March 18, 1953 — March 15, 2026

Gloucester

Homemaking is surely the most important work in the world. It’s the art of making a house a home. The starting place of love, hope, and dreams. Where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends. To the world, Brenda A. Thomas (nee Hancock) was a wife, mother, and homemaker, all while working full-time for most of her life. But to her family, she was their world. She loved to cook, and meals were always ready for her family. Brenda was a doting wife, mother, and “Nanny” who enjoyed baseball… cheering on the “Phightin Phils”… especially JT, crocheting, casino trips, and summers in Stone Harbor.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Brenda shed her struggles and got where she was going, to the far side of the sky. Brenda will be deeply and forever missed by her husband, Robert Thomas, Sr., and her children, Robert, Jr. (Jenna), and Karen Thomas. She is the proud Nanny of Kevin, Sebastian, and Kami. Mrs. Thomas is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brother, Francis & his wife, Elaine Hancock. Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Francis Hancock and Helen Hancock (nee Metzinger). Brenda was predeceased by her siblings, the late William Hancock, Helen Hancock, Kathleen Hancock, and Gerald Hancock.

We’ll come together to take comfort in each other on Friday, March 27th, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm at McGee Celebration Etherington Funeral Home, 700 Powell St., Gloucester City, where memories and stories will be shared by those who wish to speak at 2:00 pm.
