Neta G (Fleming) Glennan

January 23, 1927 — January 18, 2023

Oaklyn

Neta G. Glennan, age 95 of Oaklyn, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

Mrs. Glennan was born in Belleville, PA, spent her formative years in the cradle of liberty, Philadelphia, and has been an Oaklyn neighbor since 1954. Neta was tenacious and strict but deeply rooted in her faith and love. She was a good neighbor, good listener, and a devoted and doting wife and mother who celebrated and professed her love for William on Valentine’s Day, 1953.

During her early years, she worked as an RN at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. She spent her remaining years occupying all of her days as a career homemaker. Neta relished and took great comfort in big family dinners. She was a scratch cooker. Thanksgiving was among her favorite and precious family gatherings. At home, she enjoyed reading thriller and mystery stories along with the occasional romance novel. Neta was a long-time and dedicated parishioner of St.Mary’s in Gloucester City, NJ. Summers were the best, spent in a serene way of life, abundant with natural beauty in Bailey Island, ME.

Neta leaves to cherish her memory and is blessed in love by her husband of 70 years, William J. Glennan. A mother is the truest friend we will ever have. When we face adversity she will stand beside us and fill our hearts with peace. Mrs. Glennan was the mother of; Stephen H. and Maureen King, and the late Marie C. Kollar, William, Jr., and Patrick M. She is the spectacular and very proud grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of 5. Neta was predeceased by her siblings, the late Frances and Martin Fleming.

Relatives, friends, neighbors, and parishioners are invited to gather with the Glennan family. We’ll be sharing our heartfelt stories on Wednesday morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn. We will celebrate Neta’s life through faith. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church 426 Monmouth St. Gloucester City. A graveside tribute will immediately follow at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
